I'm a sailor... I mean I haven't sailed in five years. I have been thinking about it for a long time if I should do this and... In all honesty, I think it's time.
22736.8 nautical miles from Portugal to Japan across the Atlantic. I have an uncle who told me I was free to use his Renegade whenever I wanted to since I have a license but no boat.
The way my life's been going... I'll give it a month's thought if I still want to do it by August 15th, I'll set sail... If not, I'll wait untill next year... I think it would be good for me.

Otherwise, much shorter east through the Mediterranean .. through the Suez Canal, and east around India etc. Only problems with that are the Red Sea .. takes you right through the mid east turmoil and then right off the coast of Somalia.
Probably heading west across Atlantic and Pacific is longer ..but a better choice.
Maybe a sail to Panama, Belize, or? or? for starters ...though they would be stop off points anyway.
The world is a VERY dangerous place these days.
