Well, let's see if I can make this short. I am a part of several different groups on here so if you've read this in one group you've read them all. I'm hoping by posting this to all my group I can get more opinions.First things first, I am 30 years old have been diagnosed with Aspergers, Depression, anxiety and am bipolar. With this combo you would think I would be on disability, but am not.
I married my husband 3 years ago and in that time I have have had multiple jobs. I am currently unemployed and prefer to be unemployed mainly for anxiety issues involving difficulties with interaction with others. I've tried to find jobs that doesn't require being in front of people or talking to people, but can't find anything. I've worked in back rooms (unloading trucks) several times, but once it's unloaded i have to go out and face people that ask questions while I try to work. It's difficult for me to get things done at the time I'm expected to have them done, but then add on top of that people interrupting my work and it is just bad...
What I am getting at is, my husband is getting stressed with all of the bills being his responsibility which I completely understand. His stress makes me feel guilty because I feel like I should go out and get a job, but when you have so many things working against you it's not easy. It's kind of a lose, lose for me because if I work I feel depressed because I can't keep up and am so exhausted all the time, but if I don't work I feel guilty because he has to pay all of the bills himself. I really don't know what to do.
My husband is an avid hunter and I really worry that if I get disability he wouldn't be allowed to have guns around me because of my diagnoses'. I am pretty stable and am not a threat to anyone. I have a psychologist that I go to and she has done a lot of testing to make sure that I am okay to be around guns and the such. Does anyone have experience with this?
My husband is very supportive of any decision that I make. I just want to make sure that I make the best decision for us. Thanks for any help/advice.

Have you ever read a book that made you want to travel somewhere? (And if so, did you ever actually travel there?)

I do not know if I can buy another gun or not....maybe not...because I am psych disabled too...but even after I was on disability for psych reasons in the 1980s I was able to buy a shot gun in 2001 or right around there but I was no longer on SSDI at that time....I just went back on in 2013.....
so I would tell you file for disability and if denied get a lawyer who takes only from your back payments of you if your awarded with his help....it is a pretty good program for people with our problems but sometimes it is hard to get approved....but lawyers work magic
Personally, I think it alone may keep you from adequate employment. Add to that the other diagnoses and you very well may be 100% unemployable.
I am 100% disabled .. for PTSD and Depression by the Veteran's Administration. There is 'talk' about vets like me losing their gun ownership, but it has not happened for most of us. Those who it has happened to are diagnosed as being a danger one way or another.
I think you should file for disability ... because I think you are. If the guns are out of the question ... deal with that when/if it happens. I have a feeling it WON'T happen.
Otherwise, I think you have insurmountable mountains to climb. Just my opinion(s).
I'm the type of girl that left my wedding planning up to the people at the place I got married. If it involves my anxiety getting involved I try to steer clear of whatever it is, no matter what.
