Insomnia strikes again! Just laying here watching Netflix. Currently I’m watching Bojack Horseman. I actually googled “tv shows to help depression” this was one of them. It was something like 35 shows to watch to help depression. Anyone have a show or movie they watch to help clear your mind?

Recently I've gotten really into superhero movies! I like The Amazing Spiderman best :) That and I also love to watch YouTube, it never fails to make me laugh even and distract me from all anxiety~

Seriously, I'll often use that time to work on something I've been avoiding. either that, or I start praying the Rosary - it's repetitious and requires focus. I'm usually asleep by the first decade.

An old movie I've literally watched dozens if times. A comedy, and its a bit slap stick. Usually I am not big on comedies and I HATE slap stick.

The movie is called, Let It Ride. Starring Richard Dreyfus. He's a taxi driver who recently promised his wife he wouldn't Gamble anymore. But hears a great Tip on a race horse. So off to the track he goes.....

It has great character actors in it. Jennifer Tilley is smoking hot too.

One of those funny feel good movies. Plus I'm a huge horse race fan.

@momenttaker,

I agree with praying the Rosary. Like you, I often find myself waking up in the morning with my beads still in my hand... I dont know how far I got, but I know the effort is appreciated. And when I complete the Rosary while still conscious, I fall asleep easily and worry free.

i used to watch a movie i had watched a gillion times a knew by heart - so nothing could make me jump awake. that was back in the days of having a vcr ...

it has been difficult to find just the right something to fall asleep to.

i used the sound of aquarium bubbles for awhile - that worked really well for awhile.

Funny movies are always good for me, but don’t they keep you up? When I can’t sleep with insomnia, I read something really boring. It helps to make me drowsy, then I put on my sleep mask and ear plugs and I go to sleep. Movies and interesting books just stimulate me which keeps me up. I also found an anti anxiety low dose medication that helps my insomnia a lot. Best of wishes for you to get some sleep. Nothing worse then no sleep.
