I have been on lithium for about a month and just had my dose increased and now take 900 mg. I go back to the dr at the end of the month and also have another blood test to check the levels. I still feel very depressed. I take an antidespressant but the lithium was an additive to it. Does any body else take lithium for depression and how does it make you feel?
I have been on antidepressants for years and this mixture is finally making a difference for me. I think that when it is the right dose for you there shouldnt be any noticible effects. Some people feel very drugged at high doses. At first you may get some dizziness and hand tremors, but that wears off as you get used to it. You should be careful in the sun and heat because you might have some intolerance to it while you are on lithium. I have a constant dry mouth which can be dealt with by sucking on hard candy or mints - I like tic-tacs.
