I am 46 and have never had insurance.Because I make very little income I go to my local Charity Care Clinic.The service is adequate but when I am sick I have to cough up the real $$$$ to see a better doctor.Hope fully I will not get ill!

I have medicare as my primary insusrance and pay out over $250 dollars a month for the secondary insurance. It's awful.

I've been on both sides of this one.

Went the first 10 years of life on my own without it. Instead of fixing teeth I had to do the less expensive one and pull them. NOT PRETTY.

I finally got some insurance, and good thing because I got hit with RA, and two injections per month cost over $2000.

Hang in there. If you're in America, things are about to change for you.

I guess I should be grateful for my crappy insurance

After I retired I went for a few years without health insurance and it sucked. I went through tens of thounds of dollars of my own money on medical care. I'm not old enough for medicare, so my options are extremely limited.

Because of a pre-existing condition private insurers would not take me. I was finally accepted by a high risk pool so I have insurance once again. It cost me $590 per month, and its not the greatest coverage, but it is insurance.

I have insurance because I'm lucky enough to live in a state that has universal health care. And Bistro is right things are soon to change-thank goodness!
