Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

I don't feel like doing anything except sitting at the computer. I should shower and don't wanna. I should eat and don't wanna. I can feel the tentacles of depression curling around me.
I want to snap out of it. I want to be "fine". But I keep telling myself I've got a mental illness and it's ok to cut myself some slack. But it's getting harder... I wish I knew some ways to simply get past the depressing thoughts of how shitty my life is.
Everything I think about reminds me of what I don't have. I try to be grateful for the few things I do have, a job, a roof over my head, but I lost all my friends in the last few months - they all moved out of state and it's really hard not to get down about it. Anyway, thanks for listening.

same here sweety, but we're all sat at the computer, supporting each other. It's not the worst thing in the world, we're not well. So yeah give yourself a break

Oh, yes. I'm missing some things too. I know how you feel. I'm at a loss for words lately, and all my thoughts are turned inward. Keep posting.

I've been coming across a few of your posts recently and think you are being to hard on yourself. I know your in a bit of slump. I can tell that from the few posts I have seen. You gain motivation by doing more things. Maybe it's just timed so you can take some time out and think on what you do want to do, want to change. But do encourage the shower, have something to eat to get the ball rolling.

I feel EXACTLY like you but I am grateful I found this website to be able to "talk" to others who are going through the same things I am going through. I really don't exactly how this site works, how to become friends and have conversations but I'm here and totally understand what you're feeling. I pray for us all and hope we all get through this. I feel so hopeless and unmotivated and unable to do what others think are such simple tasks like showering, grocery shpping, etc.... and the worst of it is that I am all alone. I have NO friends who live near me so I have no support. That's why I just joined this group and hope I can get help and meet people and eventually give help!!
