Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

Thank you for sharing your story with us. You have been through, and are still going through a lot. My dad sounds similar to your dad :( It's OK to feel like a hot mess right now, you have a lot on your plate.
Glad to have you here ((hugs))
I am a widower. The best thing that I can tell you is show your husband how much you love him. Help him resolve issues with loved once if there are any. Keep him away from negative people try to make his and your final days together happy ones. Don't let the drama bring you down. You are very smart to seek advice now and to get help, I wish I did.
Hugs
There are lots of supportive people here. Professional therapy can also be helpful. You might call yourself a "hot mess" but to me your post shows your strength and bravery in many ways.
Hang in there, continue to search options and know you are not alone. Hugs and support!
Right now I feel robbed and abandoned. I feel like life has nearly eaten me alive and is picking its teeth with my bones. I feel like I've been tossed out of a car window to the side of the road. There I will remain, accumulating dust, unnoticed by the world.
If cancer has its way, it will rob us of our dreams. Our fifth anniversary is this month. We are just in the beginning of our story. He was doing so well with his first post-graduate job. He loved what he did and came home humming everyday. It warned my heart to hear the door open and singing whatever was just on the radio. Our relationship hasn't been a cake walk but we have always communicated well. We have only had two heated arguments. We're that annoying couple that finishes sentances, behave like newlyweds, etc. I felt like I had been through so much and God was giving me an amazing husband. I'm safe now. I feel like I just found him and he's being violently ripped out of my arms. We wanted kids, a house, more memories. Damn it, I hate cancer.
I feel abandoned from my friends. The people I worked closely with for seven years, didn't care when I went on medical leave. I never got a goodbye or a get well soon from most of the people I considered close friends. Ouch.
Now, I feel abandoned by my close friends who live minutes away. The cancer diagnoses happened the end of March. Only one person has visited and that was because she needed comfort from me. Not a single one had called. Random text messages seem to be all they can offer. I did so much for them. It stings.
I know I sound like a toddler having a tantrum. I kind of am. I'm mad right now. I'm barely hanging on and I need support. I guess I really need new friends.
Anyway, that's my fun rant of the evening. Perhaps I should scream in a pillow. ;)
