Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
There is help with utilities for low income homeowners. Contact your utility companies for information.
There are food banks where you can get emergency food supplies and that may be helpful.
For your job situation there are often support services and job fairs where you can get your resume out there and make contacts. One of the best jobs I ever had was from just repeatedly going back and applying and keeping in touch with people at this business.
It may be helpful to get into a grief support group and even some churches have these and that would allow you support for your grief and may provide help in other areas such as food and resources. Some churches are even providing support groups for people left out of work and would be a great networking tool.
I'm surviving on disability income so I understand what it is like to be in a crises financially and have to go without some needs being met but I'm hopeful life will improve over time and I have enough blessings to keep me holding on until then and this support group is my biggest blessing right now. It is keeping me alive to give me the time needed to see life improve. We only have to take one small step at a time and with good support we can make it. Just focus on what you CAN do to help yourself and get connected to local support groups so you are around others that can provide needed support and assistance. Sometimes it is not so much what we know but who we know that can get us thought the rough patches in life so it really helps to work at getting connected. Start out slow and just work from there.
