Depression - Teen Support Group
Teen depression is marked by persistent sadness, discouragement, loss of self-worth, and loss of interest in usual activities. Depression can be a temporary response to many situations and stresses. Teens may be more susceptible to depression due to the normal maturation process, the stress associated with it, and conflicts with parents as they become more independent.
when people start talking about it i say well my friend ..... well she does it and i don't think she's stupid....
do you get what i'm saying? when people say cutting is stupid ECT.. i find myself at a loss for words honestly. because i guess in a way i am ashamed but then again i think of my scars as battle wounds that healed and they are a part of me now whether i like it or not. i guess that sounds pretty stupid, huh?
message me if you ever wanna talk. (:
my friends who are smart, talented, and now how to have a good time sometimes joke about death like its nothing. they joke about cutting and nooses and put two fingers up to their heads and pretend to shoot themselves when they are bored and in the end they laugh about it. all i can think is "if only they knew. if only they knew the pain that i feel everyday. the pain that burries me in the darkness. its not easy and it hurts when i hear them joke about that stuff and i know that if they knew the truth about me then they wouldnt talk about that sort of stuff atleast not in front of me anyways." however the actions i take are different. i dont add on to the jokes, i dont even bring attention to myself during those times but i do "laugh" even though theyre arent the least bit funny during those times. i dont want to say anything, i dont want them to be scared because in the end "ignorance is bliss" and if ignorance is what keeps them from seeing the dark path i am in then its all right with me because its not easy for anyone to know that part of me.
i never told them that i did those things, or that i was depressed, but i did get angry when they would talk about it and i would tell them "your being extremely disrespectful, you dont know what some people go through, and alot more go through it than you think." after i made my point they would stop, and they dont talk about it around me anymore, because they know that i feel strongley about those things
i think i really made my point when i did a speech for english class last year about suicide pervention. and i believe i did that as a sort of closure with my suicidal thoughts, to start a healing process.
i really hope that you find a way to tell your friends how all the things that they say are hurting you, even if you dont want to tell them why. but if you did, and they are your true friends, i thin that theyd understand.you can message me any time that youd like (:
