Depression - Teen Support Group
Teen depression is marked by persistent sadness, discouragement, loss of self-worth, and loss of interest in usual activities. Depression can be a temporary response to many situations and stresses. Teens may be more susceptible to depression due to the normal maturation process, the stress associated with it, and conflicts with parents as they become more independent.

i know how hard it is trying to explain, with my mum she puts it down to one thing 'that i need to get over', and doesn't understand why i have given up trying to tell her what's wrong.
Your school can give you support, mine has, and maybe they can help you with the next step to getting better. I dont know how it works where you live (im in England) but im sure that there are support services within the school, who could refer you to other places.
Sitting down with your parents calmly to explain why you feel like you do could help, just remember that they do love you and they do ultimately just want you to be happy and safe.
Always avbailable to chat, much love

I went on this website and almost right away I got help from people on here. If you can't get your mom, dad, friends, or anybody else to listen, remember that there's ALWAYS someone on here that can help you through what you're feeling.
Depression doesn't get better right away. I've been taking medication for 4 months now, and I still have depressed feelings. Just take it step by step.
If you ever need someone to talk to, I'm here for you. (And so are many other great people)
1. Talk to your doctor, they can connect you with a counselor, find treatments that will work for you and your body, and help you explain your situation to your parents.
2. Surround yourself with people who will understand and support you. Talk to a friend, a trusted adult, a teacher, or extended family members. Remember, be short and to the point when you describe your symptoms. Just be yourself and they will see that, depression or not, you are a great person!
3. Add positive influences to your life. Try a hobby. Do you like to read, play sports, or write? Join a club and meet some new friends. Read inspirational quotes and try not to put yourself down.
4. Educate your parents! There are great sites that explain symptoms of depression (such as the Mayo Clinic) that you can show them.
Don't give up, advocate for yourself, and always be proud of who you are. People are not defined by their mental state, but how they fight back from it and shape their lives. I wish you the best of luck with many hugs and I promise that if you work at it you will start to feel better. Message me anytime you want to talk, day or night! :)
My best advice is to try some breathing excersises when you feel anxious, or like breaking down. Place your hand on your stomach, breathe in slowly with your nose, (your stomach will fill up like a balloon), now let it out slowly through your mouth, allowing all that air to escape out of that 'balloon.'
Stay strong, you got this.
