Depression - Teen Support Group
Teen depression is marked by persistent sadness, discouragement, loss of self-worth, and loss of interest in usual activities. Depression can be a temporary response to many situations and stresses. Teens may be more susceptible to depression due to the normal maturation process, the stress associated with it, and conflicts with parents as they become more independent.
Personally I can relate to a lot of things you're saying. I'm 17 years old and not to make it sound like I'm a know it all older kid cause that's far from the truth but through my experiences I can tell you that you need to stop. Stop thinking, stop worrying, stop stressing. I know that that is a HUGE challenge and it takes time of course but you need to understand that those kids will not matter in the long run. What matters is you. Sometimes our bodies and our minds suck at being bodies and minds and that's okay. Let it happen. You need to take care of yourself. Kids let alone adults struggle to understand something they know nothing about and or something they've never been through. Maybe they just don't know what to do and that's alright. You need to welcome people who are going to support you into your mind and forget all the people that don't. You're 14 you have the rest of your life to meet new people that will understand and recognize that you are perfect the way you are. Your problems do not define you they just make life a lot harder. You keep fighting, you keep taking care of yourself and I know it's so so hard but try to ignore those stupid kids. Distract yourself with things that bring you happiness and recognize it is okay to feel the way that you do. And taking medications for those things is nothing to be ashamed of. You aren't screwed up or crazy or weird at all. Your mind just decided to do it's own thing which unfortunately effected you in a negative way. You didn't ask for this, you didn't bring it upon yourself . Despite what society is taught, you don't have to have the same path as everyone else. Everything happens for a reason and there will be a time when all this crap is worth it. You will make it through this tough time, you must be patient but you can survive. This site proves that you are not alone and you don't have to be a cookie cutter child that society makes you believe you have to be. We all have our own struggles, it's okay. You're brave and strong and I know you can get through it. I believe in you.
