Depression - Teen Support Group
Teen depression is marked by persistent sadness, discouragement, loss of self-worth, and loss of interest in usual activities. Depression can be a temporary response to many situations and stresses. Teens may be more susceptible to depression due to the normal maturation process, the stress associated with it, and conflicts with parents as they become more independent.
sound like you are going through a rough time and that sucks. to the question what should you do, I think it would be good if you confronted your mom on why she looked so disappointed. sometimes how we receive peoples action is totally different then what those people attended them to be. to the second question about the disappointing feeling of people to go away? well that's a hard one because it is natural built in us to need approval and praise. to your third question how do you stop blaming yourself and hating yourself, well if you are doing things that make you happy and are doing things to the best of your abilities then you shouldn't hate yourself and its not your fault if your mom is disappointed because you gave it your all. I hope this helped you and you can message me if you need someone to talk.
Sincerely,
Katy
Trying to be perfect and pleasing your parents all the time gets so stressful, I feel you 100 percent. There are so many pressures when being a teenager, and often we take the easy way out by becoming unmotivated in the thing we used to enjoy. Its so much easier to just let everything fall to shit and stop trying in relationships with your friends, but your first step to recovery is accepting that the things your mother may be disappointed in, isn't a reflection of who you are. You need to literally tell yourself that you will be okay, and that you can make new friends, and that you won't blame yourself.
Be selfish, love yourself, be overly confident. If you do, I promise the feelings of hating yourself will go away. we as people, will always be afraid of disappointing others, but if don't take chances because we are afraid of that, we will never grow. :)
