Depression - Teen Support Group
Teen depression is marked by persistent sadness, discouragement, loss of self-worth, and loss of interest in usual activities. Depression can be a temporary response to many situations and stresses. Teens may be more susceptible to depression due to the normal maturation process, the stress associated with it, and conflicts with parents as they become more independent.
Bascially what happens (or at least what happened in mine, but I'm sure the basic things are the same), you'll be there for about week, maybe two. You'll go to group therapy, individual therapy, and they may change your meds(not sure if you're on any atm, but...) There will probably nurses, doctors, etc. for you to talk to anytime you need it. One thing that's also helpful is getting away from "real life" for a while, and focusing on you and your recovery.
Are you going to see a therapist? If so, maybe talk to her about what's been going on, and why you want to go to the hospital, and see if she thinks it's a step you should take.
Don't know if this helped, but I hope you feel better :)
