Depression - Teen Support Group
Teen depression is marked by persistent sadness, discouragement, loss of self-worth, and loss of interest in usual activities. Depression can be a temporary response to many situations and stresses. Teens may be more susceptible to depression due to the normal maturation process, the stress associated with it, and conflicts with parents as they become more independent.
But here's the thing. No one is born knowing all it takes to make and keep GOOD friends and not just useless assholes that SAY they are friends. No one is born knowing how to cope with stress, or boredom or depression. It's all skills, and you have to be TAUGHT skills by someone who understands them.
A GOOD therapist is about teaching people how to deal with like, other people, family, and all that. So you aren't paying someone to talk to you, you're paying someone to teach you how to get what you want. Make sense?
Now you COULD teach yourself this stuff, I did in high school, out of a LOT of books. And if you INSIST on doing it the hard way, I can point you in some good directions. But it sounds like you're not at all happy. So why not learn this stuff the easy way?
Either way it's your call, but if you want to learn it yourself I can suggest some places to start.
