Depression - Teen Support Group
Teen depression is marked by persistent sadness, discouragement, loss of self-worth, and loss of interest in usual activities. Depression can be a temporary response to many situations and stresses. Teens may be more susceptible to depression due to the normal maturation process, the stress associated with it, and conflicts with parents as they become more independent.
Is it selfish to end your own life? That will always be a controversial topic, and you will never get a definitive answer. The only answer that matters is your own, in the end. You're not going to abide by what any stranger says, your own morals exceed in importance.
I strongly believe that the only cure for you is the will to improve your mental health. Prescriptions will turn into candy if you don't have that will. You must learn to accept the situation and put forth the effort to stop cutting. Sure, you may cut thirty slits. But it isn't fifty. This goes for any number. And remember, you didn't cut fifty. If you did, you didn't cut sixty, etc. You're perspective is the most important piece to this puzzle. If you are unwilling to aid yourself, medicines are only another tool for your destruction.
If cymbalta really does work wouldn't everyone be taking it? I honestly don't like taking meds because it makes me feel even more messed up/suicidal, BUT the only reason I haven't done anything is because of my FAITH, FRIENDS, and....family. My friends actually helped me more than my family because they care.
I care for you and your health.
This is just my opinion you can just ignore it if you want.
I think it's selfish about taking your own life. I've been in your position before with the cutting and wanting to die, but then I stop and think about ALL of the people who want to live and are dying. I BELIEVE that GOD put us on this earth for a reason...like showing others your struggles to show others that they're not alone and to help them...that's just my opinion.
