Depression Supporters Support Group
This community is dedicated to spouses, children, relatives, co-workers and others who are actively supporting someone suffering from depression or other serious mental illness. Depression can bring about intense sadness, melancholia or despair that has advanced to the point of being disruptive, which can have a grave impact on the ability of others trying to help.
The only thing that you can really do is suggest he get some help. Which so often falls on deaf ears - because getting help is really hard.
The good news is that he told you. That means, under all of the pain and depression, that he does want to connect. That he wants help.
You might be able to help him get help - he could be feeling overwhelmed at the idea of talking to someone, even the piece of trying to find who to talk to.
There are several online services that provide counselling. This means that he wouldn't have to leave the comfort of his home and it might feel less daunting.
If you ever need someone - just send me a message :)
I appreciate your response its nice to have the support. Thank you
