This community is dedicated to spouses, children, relatives, co-workers and others who are actively supporting someone suffering from depression or other serious mental illness. Depression can bring about intense sadness, melancholia or despair that has advanced to the point of being disruptive, which can have a grave impact on the ability of others trying to help.
I completely understand. I want to be here and support him but I'm not allowed to be busy or stressed or sad.
I too am taking upper level classes, I graduate this semester... Full time 12 units, I have a full time career and support us completely.
I can't do anything good right now... I just upset him.
So... What to do?
Think of me, think of you, think of all of us here and remember how truly awesome we are! Who else would put up with this?! We do, because we are STRONG!!!! We love them and we are strong enough to help them. You are AMAZING!!! Don't ever forget that!
That being said... You must stay strong and you can only do that by taking care of you and getting peace. I was going to yoga for this... He is in such a bad place I can't do that now:.. Hopefully soon I will be able to. However, in the mean time I am driving on the back road to come home through the mountains instead of the freeway. It gives me time to calm down an prep for our evening.
I am waking up earlier to have me time and I am coming on here DAILY hoping someone has posted so that I may read some encouraging words.
We love them. We are there for them. Just be sure you are there for you too :)
Infinite hugs!!! :)
As far as him whining about not seeing the whole show? You can always reschedule or go to something else. He doesn't have to miss out on a reward. Try to remind him of that.
(I'm sorry for being a bit cold & calculating today- I've had a tough week & my touchy-feely sweet side is on vacation. I DO understand how tough it is to love & help someone with D)
