Depression Supporters Support Group
This community is dedicated to spouses, children, relatives, co-workers and others who are actively supporting someone suffering from depression or other serious mental illness. Depression can bring about intense sadness, melancholia or despair that has advanced to the point of being disruptive, which can have a grave impact on the ability of others trying to help.
I'm sorry you're going through this. It sounds like first and foremost you should step away from his depression. How you sound now is how I felt when I joined this group. I have learned to take care of me from the many wonderful people here. It turns out if you can't take care of yourself you can't be a great supporter and then it's hard to not become depressed like they do.
Take care of yourself. Start doing things for you... Happiness is contagious and he will start catching it from you :). I am not saying it becomes easy but at least I am happy and can deal better :). You will be glad.
Also... Keep coming here and venting! It helps so much to get it off your chest. This site has been wonderful for me :). Welcome :)
