First, I want to let you know that you are an amazing friend. If yelp had reviews for friends you would get 5 stars. I think most people give up on other people. You are a gem.
My husband would not accept help until he hit rock bottom. Nothing could reach him. The only thing that would somewhat break through was telling him that this was effecting my life as well. That's why your sistauation is somewhat different since this is friend.
I think trying to get her help is the right thing to do. If she is going, that means she is not totally opposed. Perhaps something with reach through the dark prism that is depression. Depression is just that, a prism that distorts their view of their entire life. No matter how much you try to talk their view straight, It's distorted from their perspective.
Hang in there and keep us updated. All the best to you.
