Depersonalization triggered by panic attack

Hello,
Seven weeks ago I had a panic attack after watching The Walking Dead. I know this sounds strange but it happened. After my panic attack I immediately felt something change within my thought process and I began to feel very detached and I was questioning reality. Since my panic attack I have been living in a constant state of detachment. I am constantly questioning reality and I often feel like I want to jump out of my own skin and not be myself anymore, this is incredibly overwhelming for me because I feel like I cant "escape" myself. Before this, I have had anxiety since I was 18, I am now 25. My anxiety would usually come and go, I've never experienced anything like this before. The worst is feeling like I want to get away from myself and I can't. I am currently taking paxil and ativan which "takes the edge off" but it doesn't completely take it away. I am constantly questioning the meaning of life and I feel detached from the person I used to be. Before this episode I was happy and enjoying life and I was very confident within myself. I work and I'm in a Master's degree program and this problem is greatly affecting everything in my life. If you have been through this and you have recovered and have any helpful advice please let me know I'm so afraid that I will never get back to reality again! Thank you!

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
I worked out its a defence mechanism i created when small child to overcome intense fear.
not seen walking dead, but heard of it, im guessing something in the program made you feel scared and it triggered this episode.
im doing a BA degree and have a mental health support worker through the university. it helps a lot, they remind me how well im doing by just turning up! and stop me being so hard on myself.
I know from experience it can just be a time thing, time heals my dissociation. i don't take anything anymore, no anti anxiety because it made the detachment worse for me. the doctors medication you on may be helping you but maybe its proplonging your episodes too, its complicated stuff, maybe try talking about it to your health workers.
The meaning of life is helping others, we are not important ourselves , the only useful thing about this life is making it a bit better for others, even if its just a smile you give a passing neighbour , or being kind to that grumpy shop assistant,
im not a christian but i live by the words of jesus, he said life is about caring for others not ourselves and he's right.
if it was about ourselves, i would of left years ago.
