I also try hard to get him to "go" before we go anywhere and not have him drink too much while we're out and about and take shorter trips now.
The Parkinsons Association and Alzheimers Association in our town both had these signs available. I also have a bag that I keep a change of clothes in and a towel and handiwipes, just in case we have any issues. So far nothing more than spilled ice cream! Hope this helps.
If combative and neither, yes, having the emergency bag ready is good. Alzheimers/Dementia can be unpredictable, being prepared helps. lol
