Forgive me for going off topic but I need to harness the power of DS. Please pray for 8 year old Tanner who has suffered a severe head injury due to an accident. He is in a coma and the prognosis is not good but as many of us know, this can change. Thank you.

Thank you so much for your response and prayers. I just spoke to one of the grandmothers and Tanner is holding his own. He is still in a coma and the next few days are crucial. But, the good news is there is brain activity and he coughed which doesn't sound like much but the doctor said it's good so we'll take it.

Thanks for the prayers and response. You are so right about the recuperative power of young children. I've been reading up on head trauma and children have the highest recovery rate of all groups.

Tanner is still in a coma, but he has survived the crucial 72 hours which means that he has a better chance of living. I couldn't hear the person very well who I last spoke to at the hospital but from what I could gather the doctors have assessed damage to the right side of his brain. They are not sure how this will affect him and can't really do much until the swelling subsides more. They said he did move his hands and feet a little yesterday.

I thought I had already posted this but just realized I hadn't. If you go to Caringbridge.org and type in Tanner Langhart as one word, there is a website where you can see daily updates on his condition, send a message and see pictures of Tanner and his family.

He is still in a coma but there are some positive signs so please keep him in your prayers.

Thanks again for your kind words and prayers. Tanner passed away yesterday.He never regained consciousness. Please remember the family.

Oh I am so so sorry. I have just joined the dementia site and came across your prayers. Sometimes God decides to bring people Home to Him. We will never understand why exactly. However, the blessing is that he never regained consciousness so hopefully it wasn't too traumatic for him. Little comfort I know. But he is at peace now with the Father. And he is no longer in pain! My thoughts are with the family. May God put His loving arms around them.
