For me, I would not want to see my mother consuming any alcohol. It's definitely a behavior inhibitor so if you add that to dementia, it's not a good combination.
I would have been mortified when the swearing began but I'm willing to bet that anyone that was watching her drinking wasn't too surprised.
I'm with you, I'd lean on not giving her alcoholic beverages until one, it's okay'd by her doctor and then if it's okay to limit it to a more private setting such as home.....
I'm sorry you had to go through that but the story was a bit funny! I can't imagine that embarrassment but it does happen.
