Hi all,
I had a car accident, both knees slammed into dashboard and left hip into middle console. I had MRIs done due to pain and weakness in my knees - right knee just gives out sometimes and sharps pains when climbing or going down the stairs. I've learned I tore my meniscus lateral anterior horn and have a 1.2cm paramencial cyst. I'm currently in physical therapy. The Chiropractor has yet to refer me to a Ortho for consultation. Said he wants to take the conservative approach and will have me see a specialist in a few weeks. I am concerned as I have inflammation, effusions- not really sure what is and mild chrondromalacia. I find it to be odd the radiologist didn't measure the tear or mention the size of the tear. I'm just confused.
Does anyone know anything about this and can please give me some insight of what to expect or ask. Thank you in advance!

holey mackaral, no stairs. I cannot believe theyhaven';t made clear to be extra gentle with your knee. my mother had that dx of her knee - w/out the cyst? and she had to stay off her leg and have surgery. it was extremely painful.
the sooner the specialist the better. this sort of an injury worsens a good deal over time - sort of exponentially. it adds up more damage quickly when you continue to use it.

Thanks for your response. After two second opinions I'm moving forward with surgery and scheduled in a few weeks. I've suffered long enough and think this is the best option. Thank you again and I hope all is well with you!
