Osteoarthritis (OA) is a condition in which low-grade inflammation results in pain in the joints, caused by wearing of the cartilage that covers and acts as a cushion inside joints. Due to decreased movement because of the pain, regional muscles may atrophy, and ligaments may become more lax. OA is the most common form of arthritis.
I have osteoarthritis of the spine and my knees started making noises when I walk up or down stairs a couple of years ago. They are getting more painful now.
What is unusual for me is to have so many joints hurting at once. It's both hands, both feet, even my toes, both ankles, both elbows, both shoulders so you get the picture.
I've been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia for 26 or more years so pains around muscles and joints is pretty normal, it's an off and on, moving kind of pain.
The pain I have now is different, my fingers are swollen and there's some swelling in my feet. No new medications lately so that's not the cause. They are swollen when I get up in the morning and when I go to bed.
I feel like there's pressure in the joints, like a bursitis. No fever, or redness in the joints and no rash.
It also feels like my tendons are affected to some extent.
I'm going to make an appointment with a Rheumatologist in the morning.
It's come on fairly quickly, a matter of a couple of weeks and the pain is better after a hot shower, mild exercise but 10 minutes later, it's the same as before.
What do you think? Any one have similar diagnosed symptoms?

It's not like the fibro or neuropathy. It's MUCH worse in these new areas when a weather front goes through or it's damp outside. I've tried meditation, heating pads, TENS unit, pool therapy, asprin and all the NSAIDS I think they make; but my pain specialist has me on FLECTOR patches. THEY ARE AWESOME!!!! On 12, off 12.
I'm just figured I'm over 40 and I'm getting old.
