I have a crease a couple inches above my navel that's evidence of the spine compression and it's much less noticeable in the morning so laying down helps. My back and hips don't tend to hurt in the a.m. but I'm "aware" of my upper spine when I wake up most mornings. I can't say it hurts but before my hysterectomy, I didn't "feel" my spine if that makes sense. I may have spinal stenosis as it seems like the "slippage" of the spine as well as some possible loss of bone mass could cause stenosis.
