Has Anyone Here Had A Sequestered Disc Fragment?
Carr
Physical therapist Bob says in this video that when pieces of a disc break off they can be absorbed back into the body and that;s what a lot of medical articles say including the great recent one by Anne Asher.
Hi everyone,
I saw a specialist doctor at a spine institute in December who looked at my MRI and said that I had an unusual case of a fragment of my disc break off and that he never had a case like mine and this caused my Sciatica which I never had or even heard of before and I had excruciating pain in my thigh for the first five days, and then soreness and weakness in my thigh, causing me to fall even just leaning on it,and I have to walk with a walker in my house and a cane going to the doctor with someone helping me,and that he expects me to fully recover but it will take months.Yet I'm finding medical articles like the recent one by Anne Asher that Dr.Grant Hughes reviewed,
A sequestered disc fragment, or free fragment, can cause back pain and other symptoms should it press on a nerve root. Find out what you can do about it. www.verywell.com |
, and great videos ,and people on medical health spine forums who had this too.
The doctor also said that most people have bulging discs, degenerative disk disease and spinal stenosis is common also all from getting older. I said that my MRI from 2013 showed only mild bulging discs and now but now it got worse and he said it should be as you have gotten older.
In December 2011 I went to a orthopedic doctor who didn't practice surgery anymore because I had recently lost an inch of height and I had mild lower back pain, and he took and X-ray and he said I have degenerative disc disease and and that it's like arthritis in your spine and that it's very common and most people have it.
I asked him will my back pain get worse and will I lose more height and he said likely yes and was right about both things. And I asked him what I can do about and he said nothing, you can't prevent or stop it.
Here is a you tube video on how common bulging discs are even people in their 20's and 30's by two popular physical therapists

I couldn't walk without a walker and only in my own place for 2 months, not even just to go the bathroom,my thigh was sore but extremely weak to the point that I couldn't even lean on it without falling and I fell 6 times,5 times in my house and I fell on the pavement steps coming home from the emergency room and a neighbor had to help me up.
I had a physical therapist, nurse and nurses aide coming into my home that the nurse said was going to be from December until February 5,but they stoped it January 31,and I filed an appeal with my insurance company but then they told me that the home health center didn't even issue a valid discharge.
I had to get a new family doctor since my old one didn't send over a new prescription for a whole month for me to use another home health service, and I just started physical therapy again and have a new nurse and nurses aide coming into my home .
If you could respond when you can I really would appreciate it.
Thank You,
