I never had back problems until after my hysterectomy. Since my surgery, my spine has gradually compressed eliminating my waist (the space between my rib cage and hip bones). So its no wonder I have twinges of pain all along my spine which feel like bone spurs (spinal stenosis?). I also have pain in my low back. At times, my entire back and even my whole rib cage (front, back, sides) hurt. I now know that my waist not only gave me my curves (which are now gone), it also served as a buffer or cushion between my rib cage and hip bones giving me natural flexibility and mobility (hip sway). And another side effect is that one of my hip flexors or joints has lost flexibility and hurts.

I also wonder and worry how my organs may be affected by the compressed space and possible displacement as well as nerve and blood supply changes. Our organs are probably, to some degree, like pieces of a puzzle remove a piece and everything changes. My bowels sure changed!

Unfortunately, there is probably no fix for these problems. We just have to treat the symptoms. :(
