Protein S and C

Just got my results back for protein s and c deficiency. They both came back very low. What are the chances that this is a false positive? Does being on Warfarin at time of test cause a false positive?? Also, the PTT-LA under Antiphospholipid Syndrome came back rather high.. Can someone please give me some input as to what this means.

Yes, being on warfarin will skew your protein s and c tests to the low side - because warfarin inhibits your vit k levels, and both S and C are vitamin K dependent.
I also showed up as positive for the Lupus Anticoagulant (LA) on initial testing - but it was transitory. For some reason I'm not completely clear on, LA can show positive and then just go away. You would have to test LA positive more than just the one time - is your doc planning on any follow up blood tests? Did you get tested for Factor V Leiden?
