I've found the leg in which I had my DVT (nearly 9 months ago, femoral vein pelvis to ankle) really aches when the weather is hot. Is this normal? Anything I can do? The only thing that doesn't hurt is sitting around with my leg raised, and that's not a good option for what looks like a long hot spell.
I've been off coumadin for about 2 months.

I had a DVT from my femoral artery to my calf in 2006. My vascular surgeon said that humidity really aggravates the affected leg & that I will just have to live with the pain. I live in NYC & our summers our extremely humid. I am almost in constant pain but am thankful that I'm alive.

Yes, i for sure find that the pain is worse in the heat. I'm in Victoria, BC and we're having a heat wave right now - yesterday I could hardly walk by the end of the day!

My DVT was 2.5 years ago, and I find that the pain is worst in high heat, or if I'm sick or under stress.

Eh Jokr, you wanna send some heat eastbound, in Ottawa we have had 6 days w/o rain in July and I think that today was the second day that the mercury has risen above 20 this year...(72 for the other users)
Today was a bommy 25 cel. (82 Far) and my leg swelled up but it does not hurt.
That's PTS for you...

LOL well you guys can have this heat back! I lived in Ottawa, and one of the reason's I moved back to Victoria is because we're not supposed to get this kind of heat and humidity!! it's been over 30 degrees at our place for about 4 days straight - and no sign of it stopping soon!

Kind of frustrating that the heat makes the pain and swelling worse, but when it's this hot, I'm not doing much other than laying in the sun with a book anyways :)
