Deep-vein thrombosis, also known as deep-venous thrombosis or DVT, is the formation of a blood clot ("thrombus") in a deep vein. It can be caused by something preventing blood from circulating or clotting normally. Join the support group if you are coping with DVT and find others who are going through the same challenges.

I have a couple of girlfriends who started an online TV show where they talk about 'girly fluff and serious stuff'. I asked them to do a show on my DVT and they did. Today they posted the show. I did this to help spread the word about DVT, but to also plug dailystrength.org because I really could not have made it w/o all of you :)

Very nice information; well done.

I know that NATT is working on an "after the clot" type information to better help patients understand what they may experience during their recovery. They also have a DVT and PE Fact sheet which discusses the risks and symptoms of a blood clot.

Hey all - thanks for the comments. What's really rewarding for me is that one of the gals on this show - her sister ended up with a PE/DVT earlier this year and if she had not done my show - she would not been aware of the symptoms... she encouraged her sis to visit the doctor even after one visit to the surgeon after some symptoms developed said it was likely not PE/DVT (she'd just had knee surgery). So w/o her exposure to my story by doing this show - who knows how much longer it would have taken?

And I'd love to join a community where we could speak to the recovery aspect...
