Can I take any ibuprofen with warfarin?? I think I heard that they increase your INR?

I am on Warfarin for life due to a very extreme DVT last October. I was just recently diagnosed with Pericarditis (inflammation around the heart). Both the hospital & my regular doctor said that I could take ibuprofen(occasionally)for pain.
It seems like everything has an effect on INR levels so I only take it when I really need to.
Dependant on your medical problem, many doctors will allow Ibuprofen to be used when needed (again the preferred medication is Tylenol). I have severe hip arthritis and there have been times the only thing that helped was 800mg Motrin.
