Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) Support Group
Deep-vein thrombosis, also known as deep-venous thrombosis or DVT, is the formation of a blood clot ("thrombus") in a deep vein. It can be caused by something preventing blood from circulating or clotting normally. Join the support group if you are coping with DVT and find others who are going through the same challenges.
Yesterday someone had posted a new thread in here. I started to reply this morning and then never finished. Now the thread is gone. I saw someone else mentioned the replies were missing from some other posts, so I thought I'd post something about this.
If you are the new member who posted the thread, I hope you aren't discouraged by the malfunctioning site. Please post again.
I believe you had posted a question regarding the treatment of being on Warfarin and something like "why don't they remove the clot". My response was intended to explain that we are on warfarin to prevent the clot from getting bigger while our body disolves the clot. It may seem frustrating and it may take a while for your symptom to subside, but your body is working hard at eliminating the clot, and eventually it should be gone. Some people have issues where it doesn't go away. I'm not an expert, but I think that in general, the clot(s) do clear up. Hopefully others will chime in here as well.

I am hoping that clot #2 will have dissolved. It was localized behind the knee. I have an appointment with a vascular surgeon in 3 weeks for another ultrasound.
Will keep everyone posted on my progress.
