Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) Support Group
Deep-vein thrombosis, also known as deep-venous thrombosis or DVT, is the formation of a blood clot ("thrombus") in a deep vein. It can be caused by something preventing blood from circulating or clotting normally. Join the support group if you are coping with DVT and find others who are going through the same challenges.
This weekend, I noticed a lump on the front of my calf (DVT leg). My DVT is almost 2 years old now and I've been off coumadin and lovenox for about 8 mos, but now I'm back on Lovenox, because I'm pregnant.
Anyway, the lump gets worse if I'm standing and it seems to go down if I'm sitting. Can I get another clot if I'm doing daily injections of Lovenox?
And: Has anyone experienced a clot in the front of their leg (visible) rather than in the back?

If the lump is in the same location and not new (hemotoma), it is usually the result of Post-Thrombotic Syndrome (PTS) (valve or vein). I have a few of them that I don't really notice until I either exercise or do a lot of standing. One area is a bad valve which was affected by my DVT. This particular site looks like I have a golf ball embedded in my leg. There is no pain associated, just a soft lump.
Wearing of compression stockings does help and should be properly fitted.
