Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) Support Group
Deep-vein thrombosis, also known as deep-venous thrombosis or DVT, is the formation of a blood clot ("thrombus") in a deep vein. It can be caused by something preventing blood from circulating or clotting normally. Join the support group if you are coping with DVT and find others who are going through the same challenges.
Hope it gets better soon!

I've learnt through experience not to take 'no' for an answer - the doctors aren't infallible.

The other thing is : how is your potasium intake? Lack of potassium can and will creat muscle cramps.
Have you been doing any physical activities, I know you were talking of doing some running and stuff...
If you deplete your electrolytes(potassioum, calcium, sodium...) this is often the results.
The solution, Gatorade or any good sport drink (NOT TALKING OF ENERGY DRINKS) stay away from those, Red Bull can help in forming clots, ya don't want that...
Hope things do get better.

I'm glad Dero mentioned about the potassium, as I know that can be an issue for some people. I want to add something else, and I've been debating all day whether to say this or not because the last thing I would want to do is unnecessarily worry anyone, but I just want to mention to please keep a careful eye on how you're feeling. If the pain gets worse or extends to other parts of your leg then go back again to the ER.
Do you know if you had any other things that could be an indicator of DVT? I mention this because of my experience, which I know is very rare, but I'm just proof that sometimes these things CAN get overlooked.
When I went to the ER the first time, they did an ultrasound but it came back negative and was basically told it must just be some kind of muscle cramp, here's some percocet....hope ya feel better....
The ER doc told me that if the pain persisted I should get another u/s within the week, though he didn't tell me why. It ends up that was because my d-dimer was also elevated and there was no palpable pulse in my foot, but the u/s said I had no clot, so I was sent on my way and told it was just a cramp. A week later I got massive PE because I did actually have a clot, but (this is what I was told) it had started growing in my pelvis which was not part of the u/s.
So, supposedly I had the very, very rare perfect storm set of circumstances which allowed my situation to elevate to the point that it did. So I know that more than likely what you have is only a cramp, but it just still worries me because basically I see you in a similar situation as I was, being treated for the pain, but with no idea why you have the pain.
So please just pay careful attention to your pain, I would definitely say that if it doesn't get better, and especially if it gets worse, go back to the doctor again.
Feel better soon!
What she said. :)
Be well Mel.
Thanks guys for all of the support!!
