Factor 8?

After 5 months of having my jugular blood clot I went to see a hematologist last week - he did a ton of blood work and called yesterday and said that my Factor 8 came back very high - and that I would need to stay on Coumadin indefinitely-

Has anyone ever heard of this Factor 8?

I've heard of it, but don't know much about it. The Wikipedia page for Factor VIII seems to imply that too little of it will cause hemophilia and too much can cause clots. A quick Google search on Factor VIII comes back with way more hits on hemophilia than clots, so you might have to do some digging to find info.

elevation has the strongest association with VTE with the risk of
VTE increasing as the level of Factor VIII increases."
