Blood test results - help?

Hi all, I am back this time with my mums blood test results...no idea what to think of them. She has a history of severe DVT and pregnanacy issues she lost 7 children inc. my twin..they now think they are related. I am trying to find out what she has due to my own health issues. She is unable to get her records from 20+ years ago due to a variety of reasons.

Her blood results are;
Lupus Anticoagulant - Negative

vWD - Normal results.

Factor V Leiden Mutation - None.

Immunology cardiolipin antibodies - not detected.
Comments on this: A proportion of patients with antiphospholipid syndrome are negative for anti-cardiolipin antibodies. Further testing for Lupus anticoagulant and beta2-glycoprotein 1 antibodies is recommended.

Thrombophilia Profile:
Protein C 117%


So to me.. a woman with a history of severe issues comes back with nothing but a recommendation for further investigation on antiphospholipid...Im lost??? I was waiting for results on which one she had...not that she has NOTHING...It's basically saying she has something and is registering with nothing..Im so confused.. ideas anyone?

May I add she did show an anti-body 20+ years ago.

All I know is the fact that the test for lupus anticoagulant should be performed at a few weeks interval, even if the first time is negative.

Dero - :) thats ok, I just thought you'd all have a better understanding then me.

manu - they have requested for it to be done again... along with further APS testing...she's going to go back next week. Thanks for your help :)

Taters90, I am wondering if your mom sees a hematologist? My doctor also received all negative responses and referred me to one saying, "this can all be very complicated and you really should see someone who specializes in this" In my case all my tests were in the normal range, just barely. She felt that a hematologist would be more qualified to look at the whole picture. While I haven't been there yet, they told me they do ALL their own blood tests so I will get results quicker. Hope that information helps.

It sure does and thankyou :) I appreciate all your help! She doesn't and what worries me more is what she's told me recently about her lack of care in all this by doctors. So thanks again!

Yes depending of the Dr we have, sometimes we have to be PRO-ACTIVE and push them, they need to be told " What are you doing to help me?"Otherwise find a better Dr.
You pay the bills, so in other words, you're the boss!
You can fire their *** if they are not doing their job.
