Two questions. For the record, I stopped Coumadin in november and am now on half an aspirin (320mg halved... so 110mg daily) for the rest of my life.

One: I wondered what you did when you needed painkillers? Do you just take more than your daily aspirin dosage? Or do you use another pain killer? Currently I'm taking half an aspirin daily, and when I need pain relief I take 1-2 whole aspirins.

Two: Do you drink alcohol? I try to limit my drinking to at least 3-4 hours after taking the half aspirin, but is it SUCH a low dose that I could have a drink an hour afterwards if I wanted?

I have been on 1 baby aspirin for about 18 months along with compression stockings and instructions to walk a lot. I don't take anything for the pain or I would be living on painkillers. Walking helps the pain. Standing still or sitting in chair with feet on the floor brings on pain.

I'm not talking about pain for my leg... I don't have pain unless I have a busy day of walking around, and even then I just bear through it. I have a cyst on one of my ovaries so my period pain is debilitating. Aspirin isn't really strong enough to help the pain, so I'd like to try something stronger. But of course I'm unsure what I can take with aspirin.

Also, apparently I suck at math because half of 320mg is 160mg, not 110mg. Der me.

I wonder if you can take codeine? I have debilitating pain also.... dr says codeine. But, I am not on asprin. Really good questions, JM.

I would think that if we on warafin can drink a bit of alcohol (my specialist said 2 a day is fine) then you could.. but again, I'm not sure. Sorry I can't help more!

My doc gave me T3s after my brain surgery and I have continued to take them when necessary. If they're not good in combination with warfarin (and I've heard they're not) I don't want to know because I still get nasty headaches.

I've been taking a baby aspirin (81mg) each day for over a year. I take advil when I have a headache, and my OB/GYN has prescribed naproxyn (500mg - like really strong Aleve) and Lortab (strong stuff I take so I can sleep) for my monthly. You can take what you need, don't stay in unbearable pain, but you have to take it in moderation.
