First off, welcome to the group. I hate that you're having to join because of something like that, but it is what it is. As for worrying about dropping dead, you're probably good on that one now. As long as you're on Lovenox, it doesn't matter what your INR is. The Lovenox goes into effect immediately, and it has no bearing on your INR. Try to relax (easier said than done, I know), and remember that the PE did not kill you. You're still here. Everyone on this board has been through something similar, and while it is definitely life-changing, it's not a death sentence. (((HUGS)))

Hi Diamorrow- sorry you are here but glad you came. Today marks 6 months since my DVT/PE and this group of people has been such a huge huge help getting through everything. Have a read through the older posts, they can answer alot of questions and you tend to find people in similar boats to yourself. I was really worried to begin with too. I am 27 and thought this was something that only happened to the 75+ age group which is not true at all and as far as I know once we get treatment we are in very good positions and highly unlikely to reclot. Though knowing that didnt stop me having a freak out a week after my clot and going in to A and E worried. They told me DVT patients tend to pop back in worried at least once in the first month, tossled my hair and sent me on my way.
Luckymomm is totally right, it is really a case of trying to relax and looking forward and now you know there is a bunch of people you can talk to if you ever need to.

Hi and welcome! Definitely stop by the PE group too, as there will be more there on recovering from PEs specifically, which can be quite a different process from DVT recovery. The exhaustion is really, really common during PE recovery, but it can still be quite surprising if you weren't warned about it.

Some folks do have to take higher doses of warfarin to get into range, but it sounds like your INR is at least moving, so that's good news.

Sorry to hear that you're not sure what caused this. For me, they thought it was birth control originally (any chance you're on HRT?), but I clotted again after I was off the BC, so not sure now. I've also been tested a number of times for clotting disorders and been negative on everything. Hard to say what causes the clots, although they're learning more about clotting every day, so maybe I'll find out what I "have" in a few years.

I have not been on any hormones for almost 10 years....each doc asked the same questions and all my answers were no help in finding the culprit.
I will go look for the PE group now.
