Okay, I think this subgroup is going to reveal my total dorkiness.

I was a binge drinker once upon a time. The Army sent me to .... YES ... Germany. OMG - the BEER. Nectar from the gods. One time I was driving home from the base ("kaserne" actually) after drinking for hours at my part-time job at the wreck center. This little jaunt involved a short spin on the autobahn then a long and winding road down to the village at which I resided (my German landlady was a BITCH). There were no cars on the road, but since I was oblivious to that, it didn't register. Cold November night - recent blizzard activity. Hit black ice on one of the curves - no guard rail since no German ever gets trashed and drives. Of course, HIT BRAKES HARD. Whooooooooooo - flew right off the cliff, rolling, rolling, rolling. All I remember is seeing the lights of the village way below me - next thing, standing outside the steaming disaster of my totaled out car. I walked home and really got wasted. My car was history. Only injury was huge bump on forehead that turned into black eyes down to my cheekbones. Thing is, when friends took me to view the car, the engine was partly into the driver's seat and and the roof was caved in - doors too. How did I get out of there?

BEER NIRVANA

I drank for five years straight there ~ got a European Out and taught at DoD schools - just couldn't leave that beer (went back into the military a few years later). When I finally got back to CONUS, American beer truly tasted like piss, and I could drink a case and only get a headache.

Well this has been fun for a day to create the station. Should I just delete it all and start anew tomorrow with our mental institution concept Cat? Or should we just work with this for a while? This is way more involved than the Fun Garden.

I need to run but I wanted to say that there is a part of me that truly comes to this Space station out in Deep Space when I come and post here. I know that it's always up there in the Heavens. The Cosmos are truly one of the greatest gifts to all.

I have never tried German Beer, other than Heiniken. My great grandparents immigrated from Germany. I could out ski my teacher after just 2 trips down the mountain (Buttermilk Mountain in Aspen). However, that was 35 years ago. When I thanked him, he said, "I didn't teach you that... it was just in you."

The point is this: maybe I'll also have a natural liking to German beer because I do NOT like American beer. Yuk...

Heineken is actually Dutch, which I always remember as there was a factory in the Netherlands, in Amsterdam specifically. I can get behind lots of beers though and I would love to be able to be drinking some American beer right now. I like Mexican, Indian and Japanese beer too. Being denied alcohol makes me want it more. Sigh.

So I hadn't been on the Main Space Junk lately but there I was last night and this morning just yakkin away.

Now I'm yakking away in space again.
