Many insurance companies here make you pay a higher rate if you smoke or are overweight. Good topic!
but where does it stop. what about a sportsman who is injured, we are raising the retirement age to 67 over the next few years
but how many companies will employ someone over 60 and they will always be able to bribe or push you out the door when it suits them
Seems you need to be eternally grateful that you have a job these days!
The Army doctors tried to deny my sister knee replacement surgery because she was overweight. After years of persistence she had both knees done at once, even though her weight had not changed.
I am overweight and took and early retirement (age 62). I'm now semi-retired and enjoy the freedom to rest when I need too.
Our insurance has been most supportive of my efforts to stay in control.
I read recently that Medicare may offer to cover treatment for those trying to overcome obesity. That would be wonderful.
