Daughters of Abusive Mothers Community Group
For those of us whose mothers were (or still are) abusive to us. In a society that puts mothers on a pedestal it can often be lonely dealing with the feelings of hurt, betrayal, anger, emptiness and grief of having an abusive mother. People with loving mothers often find it hard to believe or understand. Here is a safe place to express the feelings and find others with...
She wanted one of us to take care of her!

I've been really sick, spent some time in the hospital then a nursing home until I was strong enough to go 'home' (staying with my bf). Shortly after coming home, my sister got a call from a nurse at a hospital that my mother had fallen and broker her wrist and wanted her to take care of her and help her around the house. My sisters is disabled and in a lot of pain. She took care of her for twenty years already (and probably is sickly as a result of putting up with her emotional abuse) and will no longer help her out. My other sister is also disabled too, and with me joining them she has no kids physically able to help her. Makes telling her no easy.
I told my sister to tell the hospital that if she wanted one of her kids to take care of her, she shouldn't have abused all of her children!!
Initially, when I was in the nursing home, it was awful if I could have crawled away, I would have. (They moved me to a different ward that was much nicer) It was bizarre and awful, that's the type of place she deserves.
I'm sure it's mean to feel this way and part of me wishes I didn't want bad things to happen to her. I wish I could not want bad things to happen to her, it's not very Christian of me.

Hi amyrinpa. I understand what you going through, don't think I could take care of my mother either. Propably could take care of a stranger. It is aweful to say it but it is the truth. Somebody will take care of her and it is probably better this way, so much wrong has been done how can you lovingly take care of somebody like that; even it is your own mother.

I will never take care of my parents, ever. They can ask their kids that they didn't treat like garbage to tend to them. I'll never speak to them, much less tend to them. I will do anything and everything possible to care for my grandparents, though, no matter if I have to work a second job or have to change Depends or anything. I will do everything in my power to give my grandparents comfort, dignity, respect, and love with good caregiving. My mother, biodad, and adopted dad can take a hike.

My 5 year old came forward on March 5th That another child in his class was reaching into his pants under his underwear and touching his penis each time he was in this class. The offending child and him sat alone at the table, clearly out of sight. He was trapped because he was afraid of disrupting class and afraid of the other kids, laughing if they knew what happened. The disturbed child...

I was in an abusive relationship for 17 years it's the only relationship I've ever even been in so what I thought of as love im now finding out wasn't love at all and that sucks my dad says things like I just need to let it go and it's insulting frankly. I let it go for 17 years just because I'm no longer being abused doesn't mean the pain and anger are gone. I refuse to let it go when I was...
