If you haven't already had this done, ask your MD about bloodwork to check for common toxins such as lead, mercury, iron, etc. These are cumulative and will cause long-term problems. Don't even bother talking to your mom. If someone is still in contact with her, they could search her medicine cabinet to see what could have been used. Most other toxins will have cleared your system. If your MD blows off your concerns, don't get frustrated....just say to him/her..."please humor me...I have benefits or I am willing to pay...it is just blood tests!"
My mother gave me her tranquilizers since I was six. When I figured it out, I would pretend to swallow and hide them in my dresser drawer. I have had kidney problems from this. She gave me other pills.."vitamins" which I could never identify.
I am now mostly healthy. Just try to focus on the symptoms that are giving you the most trouble, and don't give up!
