Thanks to the wonderful man I was married to, he and I were able to rescue 5 cats over a period of 3 years. Nick had never had any pets of any kind before.Nick died last year. In his honor I would like to share with you a little about his special kitty.-
She is a petite kitty with very long blue/grey hair with small white socks, a white bib and a crooked white stripe down her nose. Her eyes remind a person of opals. She is also a real people charmer. She had Nick wrapped around her furry paw in less than 2 minutes. Talk about love at first sight! Her name is Lady Jackson.
Nick could hold her in his arms on her back like you would hold a small baby. She would gaze up at him purring and tapping his chin. No one else has been able to do this with her. She also knew the minute his cancer returned. He had just been declared cancer free when he "caught the flu". Lady Jackson knew it was not the flu and that he was in trouble. She started "mothering" him the moment he would come home from work. She would follow him everywhere and I would literally have to pry her off his lap at dinner time. She cuddled with him and gave him all the "kitty care" she could. (She had previously helped save the life of a tiny kitten we had rescued much in the same manner.)
When Nick was hospitalized the first time, she would look for him when I returned home late at night. She then started to ignore me as I hadn't returned her person to her. When he did come back home she would constantly be beside him. She continued to care for him until the awful day he went back to the hospital and didn't come home. Somehow she knew he wouldn't be back as she never looked for him again.
After his death she would walk through the house meowing in a plaintiff manner. She now has stopped doing that and is getting into a more normal routine with the other cats in the home. She now sits on my lap but being held on her back like a baby is still something she shared only with Nick.
I am grateful Nick was a kind person who supported and accepted the rescuing of all five cats. All I can say is that perhaps at one time we rescued them but now they are all rescuing me.
Thank you for letting me share this and to write this tribute in the memory of Nick and the love Lady Jackson brought to us.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
