If you were buying a new camera to post a picture of yourself as your avatar on this website, what brand and model would you choose, and why?

If you wanted to take pictures of wildlife (raccoons, ducks, etc) so that you could post them online, what type of camera would you buy, and why?

I ask because I'm considering buying a camera in the coming months and I don't know which one would be best. .

We have two and they are both great. Mine is an Olympus and DH's is a Canon. We also have one in our phone which takes really good pics.

I like WV's idea though.

I love my Canon digital camera. It was around $280. I just wish it used rechargeable batteries because it really eats through the batteries. But the pics are great.

I use it for everything. My cell phone camera sucks and it can be hard to download but the Canon is great and easy.

Only thing I can add here is to suggest that you not use a picture of yourself as your avatar. It sort of makes it hard to be anonymous!
