Sound with chatting?

Hi - the program for chatting, before DS brought in the meebo chat, provided sound - so that we could literally talk to the other person in the chat window.

Is that possible with Meebo?

Yes. DS had a very different chat feature before they implemented MEEBO ... about a year ago or so.

Only a guess. The earlier 'system' had more capability. More capability calls for more resources (more servers, routers, storage, coding, bandwidth). It was cheaper (operationally) for DS to dump the old (better) system and contract chat out to MEEBO.

This is JUST MY GUESS though.

That sounds like a pretty good guess to me WV. I am thinking that a number of the burps in DS are due to growing pains that are not being remedied -

I never had sound so I guess it's not been a problem for me. But it would be nice to have it.

I would be happy to just be able to get on Meebo again. I've had friends who have sent me messages while I am "away" or "signed off" and when I come back on the message is across the page and there is NO way to get the message off of the page. I have to reply and send a message before it goes away.

And unfortunately the message has to be......sorry, please don't sent me a message. :(
