I agree with you. Except for having an awful time getting on. The system was so extremely slow
the last few months they existed. I gave up many times. That's the only good thing about this site.
I get in right away and the screens change promptly instead of sitting there forever.

The old site was run by really old code that had a lot of problems waiting to happen. Now if we can just get the features of the old site integrated in with the performance of this site, then we will be cooking with gas!

You can update the old code on the old site, but I think they wanted to save some time by using a template similar to other support sites. Coding is time consuming and I think we, as humans, like to take the easy way out. I am not criticizing anyone because I probably would have done the same thing, unless there was something in it for me like a financial incentive.

I miss my buddies who left out of frustration, saying that the stress of this new site triggered their drinking, or their anxiety or whatever affliction they came here for, to find comfort through identifying with others. Maybe they will come back......

I just cannot see anyone. It looks very cold and impersonal. It is just not friendly.

New DS is Awful :-( Can we please get our old DS back? Please!

Agree totally. They launched before fully understanding the issues. Being able to login with our old username and passwords is pretty basic. And that very basic function is not working. Password reset email's are somehow different and look like spam to email servers. Seems like some basic quality assurance testing was ignored.

My complaint is not having to do with the way it works. I log on easily as always and it works. It is just that when I get here there is nothing to make me want to stay. I cannot see the people which is pretty much the point. I liked being able to see everything at once. Now, it is isolated and fragmented. Lonely!!

I argree Paulina. I have no issues signing on ( even though I did have to ' reset' my password the first few days and thankfully I didn't have to open a new account like many have seemed to ), but I come on and it's just a lonely place. I can count on less than 2 hands the friends who I've seen here since the change and they aren't happy either and I have friends who have no desire to even look at the new site because of the things they've heard. I have a very close friend on here who has been on DS for 9 years , like me, who can't get on with his username ( even though he shows up on my friend's list ) and DS won't let him use it cause they say it's already being used! It's his account and no one else is using it but they refuse to let him have it. He's fed up with trying, so he's not coming back. It's a shame that we lost the ' family' feeling we had for so long..

I know you are told to say that pepper, but old code? php? javascript? ok. I would agree it was a jumbled mess created over the years when no maintenance was done and little "fixes" were tried but broke other things. They didnt want to pay for a programmer that knows what it was programmed in, so they chose something simpler. But I think there is a bigger "thing" that drove the changes. I dont believe it was the code. The old website wasn't that faulty.

Anyway, its not that user friendly paulina fo sho. Its tough to find that "community" feel in this new site. Plus a LOT of forums are ghost towns and members are no longer around.

I saw someone say something about other websites but I don't know of those or any other support sites. I have always only been on and loyal to DS. I know what I got for that. Anyway, hang in there, continue to be there for your friends or posts you can find. You will know in due time whether this website will work for you or not anymore. Stay strong and be true to yourself in life.
