Hi,
I have been wanting to post and been too scared to do this online. I could use support as I do not really have anyone to talk to and I am usually not one to share my thoughts and fears to anyone. This year has been one of the most difficult years of my life. I suddently started having health issues which made me unable to work (this started 2 years ago). I thought it would be better by now and it just seems to get worse every year. It has really put me in a depression that I can not get out from. I try periodically and then something else happens.
I have never been a quitter but it feels so impossible. The physical health has affected my mental health. Honestly, I could go on and on but I feel pathetic and so disappointed in myself for turning into the person I have become. I have always tried to compare myself to someone that had less than me. I never compared myself to others and still do not. I have tried for 2 years to get myself up and say I can improve things and I continue getting sick and giving up.
There is a lot more to it including my living situation, etc. But I feel like its too much for my first post ever on any forum anywhere. The holidays are hard so I made mself do this and hope someone else out there can point me in the right direction. I feel like all of the groups on here, I could fit into many of them. I am not even sure if this will help me but I have to do something and have no income due to my health to go to a professional.
Thank you for listening.

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

Secondly this is a safe site for everyone no issue should ever be something that can cause anger that is felt by ghe original poster here. Safety!
Important I think for you is to possibly see if your medical professionals will support getting onto social security disability.
That gives you steady fixed income to live on and two years later you get medicare coverage automatically.
Those starting points in dealing with health issues are good things.
The safe place here means everyone is here to be safe. You have to treat everyone fairly as well.
Thats my comments for now but welcome and as you fjnd the community groups here over the topics groups related to health issues happen to be more active than many topic groups. Community groups are created by members here. I created helping with the housework and also you are what you eat
Other fun ones are friends to the end of which the creator of that group has now died but we keep posting fun stuff there
The your happy place is running fun stuff too
There is laughter is the best medicine and another one kn entertainment stuff that talks are about tv movies ect. Some people like the music group too
Enjoy yourself, relax your safe here. Hope what ever illness you have others have some experience to help you with too
Hugs bill
Having constant health problems is emotionally
draining. It would be hard for anyone.
But it has and is a great place to be. I hope that you will make friends in what ever group you join.
The best way to get started is to join a couple of the groups and post an introduction, similar to what you did here. Like you, I'm hesitant to share my thoughts and fears with others. It's OK if you don't feel able to post your life story all at once. Start small. Once you forge some friendships, you can use messages to communicate more openly, if that feels easier.
As Bill, Tired, and Carly have said, this is a great place with very supportive people. Like them, I've been on the site for years (since 2008). Please feel free to reach out to any of us if you have questions. Also, you'll find the community leaders (designated as CL on their avatars) to be super helpful.
I hope things get better for you!
The trick to using this website is to click on people's names and then click on the friends button and ask them to be friends. Then you see their journals. You can also write a journal, it is in the green banner at top of page. I will try to add you as a friend so you see it. Look on the round white circle with a number by your icon at the right side top of page.
