You have to back up your computer files to get them back in case of loss from a computer virus, computer malfunction, human error (oops, I probably shouldn't have pressed that key!), burglary, or other reason.
In your opinion, what is the best way to back up your computer files?

I'm particularly interested in this topic because I just lost 18 years of files that I had stored on a flash drive, and I'd like to have a better way to save files in the future.

I'm particularly interested in this topic because I just lost 18 years of files that I had stored on a flash drive, and I'd like to have a better way to save files in the future.
I do lots of graphic stuff and the files are large so I need something fast, with lots of space.
Having said that, I don't have an external drive at the moment so I am backing up on DVDs. Lengthy process.
External USB hard drive has the most advantages in my opinion.
