I found FF is faster than my Flock - wonder if it the boards and groups rather than DS itself.

At least I can log on better now - event hat was like swimming in thick custard earlier.

Thanks for responding - I'm using Firefox and it used to be great - but it is so slow lately.

I love DS but this is the only place I have a problem with being soooo SLOW always!!! I usually leave because of waiting so long to get through the posts!!! No problem on other boards!!

Never had much luck with chrome or IE So went to Firefox and now it is slow. I am thinking it might be DS. Wish they wld pull all the old groups that hasn't a reply for a yr , maybe we wld go faster without extra baggage.

It has taken me a couple of days (ended up giving up) to get into this thread - and this time it took 2+ minutes and three refresh to get it to open.
I am having rouble with DS being slow even loading the sign-in page and going from board to board, group to group, to hugbook, messages etc is a real endurance test of patience.
It has been slow before but never as bad as this and the fact that some people are not having trouble while others are in really interesting and I hope that DS will sort it out soon as it is getting beyond frustration!

Sorry this is a bit long but wanted to post while I had the chance.

I haven't been able to be here for a couple of days, but tonight my speed is fine. I'm using Chrome and it's actually fast tonight.

Thursday and today (7-16-2010) it has been painfully slow, but I'm using Mozilla and some other sites have been slow too since a last update.

But not all of them. It's not consistent.

I just notice DS because I'm here more often than other sites.

Thanks you guys for responding to this. I am getting so discouraged by the lack of speed here.

At least it is not just me - but I do think DS should pay attention or they're going to lose people.

I am finding that the speed - or should I say lack of it - depends on the time of day and the number of people who are on site at the time?
Hope that it can be sorted out as waiting minutes for a page to load is not really going to encourage people to stay here.
I guess we DS addicts are pretty much stuck with list.......LOL

It doesn't matter when I come on.....it is SLOW, SLOW,SLOW! Hang in there LindaJean and drink a big coffee so it lasts while your waiting, that is what I do. Hmmm Have a bagel too it helps fill the time!!

Yes LJ that is exactly what is needed - either a much bigger server (there is on above Gig but the name escapes me at the moment) OR a few more servers to take some of the load as I suspect the site has outgrown the current ones capacity.

But it is all about money - But if they don't spend it to fix the speed many people will just stop coming here, will come here less often and then it will get overrun by trolls. And the ads will just sit and stare into space...........................
